Youth Substance Use

By June 2025, Probation's Substance Abuse Treatment and Reentry (STAR) program will decrease by 50 percent the time to hard handoffs for youth and families to be connected to supportive services which will decrease returns to Juvenile Hall and support successful transitions for Hispanic/Latino youth who are overrepresented in the Juvenile Hall.

Work with the STAR Program provider and evaluator to develop a formal referral and plan to facilitate hard handoffs to supportive services. Develop a data tracking system to ensure STAR program goals and objectives are being met and tracked. Analyze data quarterly reports to ensure the STAR program's objectives of linkages to community based services are being met.
